Older authors have a wealth of experience, at a basic level, simply because of the changes they’ve seen. Jharna Banerji, 82, began writing her novel, 'Perched on the Periphery’ while her husband was ailing with Parkinson’s disease. Her book is about an older widow who has been made to immigrate to live with her children, and how she grapples with finding her own identity.
